What is Oolong Tea?
Taiwan Oolong Tea is a type of Olong teas which is grown at 800 – 1000 meter height mountain
This is a tea variety capable of absorbing the spirit of heaven and earth to produce delicious essential and healthy natural essences.
Oolong Tea is worldwide recognised as "King of the Tea"...but if you haven't never tried Oolong Top Tea, you still cannot find out the best tea in your life
Why Taiwanese Oolong Tea is special?
Taiwan is a tea country with the gathering of tea connoisseurs and the natural conditions to grow the most delicious Oolong tea in the world.
Oolong Taiwan is delicious not only due to planting varieties, natural conditions but also most importantly impacted by the “secret of grower” that only Taiwanese understand the essence from the process of planting, harvesting, fermenting, and packaging. In Taiwan, there is also Master Tea for such masters who specialize in O Long tea. And they must obtain this degree to be allowed to produce tea.
Taiwan Oolong Tea is a premium tributeloved by the Queen Elizabeth during the British colonial periods.
How to evaluate Premium Oolong Tea?
For Taiwan Olong, Premium Oolong Tea is evaluated by 5 criteria:
Criteria 1: Quality of plant varieties
Oolong Kim Xuyen and Oolong Tu Quy are the best and most delicious Taiwan Oolong tea varieties today
Criteria 2: The location of cultivation, techniques, and know-how
Alishan (also known as A Ly Son mountain) is the mountain ranges with the good natural conditions to grow O Long. With connoisseurs of tea, O Long Alishan Tea or A Ly Son Tea is the best kind of Olong planted in Taiwan
However, because the Alishan cultivated area is limited, Taiwanese now bring their own varieties of tea to Southeast Asian such as China, Thailand, etc…for planting. And in Viet Nam, Bao Loc province is a place where its conditions can be similar to Alishan Mountain.
Taiwanese Olong is now grown in Vietnam, but due to the secret of cultivating to achieve the best quality, the whole process must be strictly monitored by Taiwanese people. Otherwise, the quality is the same as other regular Oolong teas
Criteria 3: Quality of tea buds
Criteria 4: Harvesting time
Criteria 5: Drying, Fermenting tea experience
With Taiwan Oolong tea, only Taiwanese can produce the best quality and best yield.
In Bao Loc, it is still possible to grow Olong Taiwan, but without the cooperation of Taiwanese farmers in cultivation, drying or fermentation techniques, the taste will not be as good as that of O Long level, can not be charming and delicious.
Premium Taiwan Oolong Tea must achieve a score of 9-10 for all 5 criteria above.
And the price is not less than 80 USD per 100 gram
5 Steps To Brew A Perfect Cup Of Tea Like A Master
1. Pre-heat the teaware
2. Measure out & Rinse the tea leaves.
You will need around 5 – 8 gram for a small pot (236ml). You can increase/ decrease quantity of oolongs, depending on your taste
After measuring the tea into your teapot, add some hot water to rinse the leaves, and then pour this water away immediately
3. Brew the tea for 3 – 5 minutes, at a higher temperature 90 – 100 degrees. If you brew the tea too long, it will begin to taste bitter
Note: especially for Premium Oolong Tea, brewing with high temperature will help to extract the deep and marvelous taste
4. Pour all “tea water” into a pitcher
5. Leave it cool for a few minutes. Then enjoy your tea
